I have had some success in getting Jetspeed up and running, and in
customising the portlets. I cannot change the skins e.g. title-color. Is
this feature working ? I am using a recent version from CVS (about two
weeks old).
I have assummed that the xsd files (used by castor ?) define the format of
the various xml files used by Jetspeed. psml.xsd does not seem to
correspond with the castor generated file, nor with the example psml files.
The cache mechanism had me confused, as jetspeed will use the temporary
cache on startup. Changes to source files, are not reflected immediately.
This is particularly disconcerting, as the main configuration file is also
retrieved from the cache.
On a similar vein, is there anyway to encourage jetspeed to re-read its
configuration file, if for example, I wanted to add a new portlet, without
bringing down the servlet engine.
The customize feature is very important, I have been unable to get this to
do any more than display the title. I assume that this feature will allow
me to edit psml files, and add new content from the feeds as defined. How
far advanced is this ?
Although the PollPortlet is memory based, it has some associated sql files.
Is it the intent of the author to hook these together ? This would be very
useful.
ICalendar has great potential, but where is the documentation? It is
difficult trying to work out how to even invoke this one. The current
version only generates wml files - a little basic. What is the status of
this project ?
