If you are getting a blank screen on the browser, chances are you will find
errors reported elsewhere. In the Tomcat window, do you see any errors
reported? How about in tomcat/logs/servlet.log or tomcat/logs/tomcat.log?
I ran into this problem as well a while back. I think tomcat was unable to
locate the TurbineResources.properties file. That explains why you would
have no log file since this is the file that defines it.
If you find the error in one of the locations I have mentioned - and you
still cannot fix the problem - post the error message to the list.
Also, your URL is either wrong, or you have not done a "vanilla" install.
(Of course, you do not mention which version you are installing). Typically,
if you follow the instructions, your URL will be
http://localhost:8080/servlet/jetspeed
Steve B.
PS - If you do not want to "mess around" with this and just want to get
Jetspeed running, the installable at http:\\mycomponents.com installed on my
NT 2000, Win98, and Linux maschines without a hitch (though I had mistaken a
long pause during installation for a "lockup").
