I assume that in these test all the simulated users did _all fetch the same 
default page_ !?
We have to keep in mind that a portal wants to provide personalized pages 
to it's users. I'm pretty sure that if 1000 concurrent users ask for their 
customized pages, the performance won't be nearly as good...
