I don't know about the URL problem, so I'd start again from scratch if I
were you. I had a lot of trouble getting Jetspeed up and running, and after
much trawling (weeks) through postings and google recently found two very
good documents. The first on is at

and is a posting by Brian Doherty on how to install Jetspeed (he uses
Solaris, but the instructions worked for me on NT) which I used to
successfully install Jetspeed. Also David Sean Taylor has an excellent guide
at http://www.bluesunrise.com/b3i/jetspeed/jetspeed.htm, which is more
detailed (David kindly mailed me an earlier version of his document).
I don't know why there isn't a link to either or both of these documents at
http://java.apache.org/jetspeed/site/install.html as it would be very
helpful to newcomers.
I downloaded jetspeed-1.2b1, and I use Tomcat as a stand-alone server (not
under Apache) on NT 4 and - after following the above install guides - it
works fine. From this discussion group, it looks as though a new, better and
simpler to install version of Jetspeed (1.2b2) will be out in a few weeks.
Remember, though, that Jetspeed contributors give their time for free to
this project, and friendly, constructive notes are better motivators.
