Ok,

I removed the jar file's version numbers as nobody has really strong 
arguments for keeping them, but Kevin has some against them.
We should discuss this again, once we get close to a release I think.
I updated the Readme file, so that it now contains sort of a signature of 
each jar - this should make it easier to identify a jar's version. Please 
keep it up to date.
