Sigh. No, you are totally confused.
It isn't *me* doing that. That site is now our automated tinderbox/build
system and is using the latest CVS of everything there. The point is to show
incompatibility between dependencies and should motivate you to fix things
when they break instead of waiting until further down the line when it
becomes more difficult to fix things.
Deprecation warnings are NOT build failures. What you have is complete build
failures. If any of your users or you even take the latest Turbine from CVS
then you will get these build errors that you just saw. That is a bad thing
since this is also the CVS head of Jetspeed, not a released version that he
is compiling against.
I have setup a cron/perl script that will email a copy of that site to this
list on a daily basis so that you can see where things are going to break in
the future when you update the files in the jetspeed/lib directory. If the
subject line doesn't change, you can safely just delete the email as that
means that the build system hasn't been updated since the script last ran.
This is all going to be part of a "service" that eventually we are going to
provide to all Jakarta projects on a consistent basis. This will also
eventually be part of a CJAN system which will allow you to not have to
check *any* .jar files into CVS as you will be able to pull them out of the
build system with your Ant build scripts. Much like Perl has the CPAN
service.
I hope that makes things a bit more clear for you.
