[jetty-users] unexpected graceful shutdown

What would cause a jetty server to go down with a graceful shutdown 
during an overnight period of inactivity?

I start it with
    /etc/jetty/bin/jetty.sh start

It is jetty-7.1.6.v20100715. The server has some static content, cometd, 
and connections to MySQL through JDBC and BoneCP.
