I suggest you run jetty with -Dorg.eclipse.jetty.xml.LEVEL=DEBUG system property.
You should see lines like the following, which are locally resolving the dtd: 2017-08-22 11:01:11.920:DBUG:oejx.XmlParser:main: resolveEntity(-//Jetty//Configure//EN, http://www.eclipse.org/jetty/configure_9_3.dtd) 2017-08-22 11:01:11.920:DBUG:oejx.XmlParser:main: Redirected entity http://www.eclipse.org/jetty/configure_9_3.dtd --> jar:file:/home/janb/src/jetty-eclipse/jetty-9.4.x/jetty-distribution/target/distribution/lib/jetty-xml-9.4.7-SNAPSHOT.jar!/org/eclipse/jetty/xml/configure_9_3.dtd Jan On 21 August 2017 at 22:11, Joakim Erdfelt <joa...@webtide.com> wrote: > Minor nitpick (not the reason for your issue, hopefully) > > The correct DOCTYPE declaration is > > <!DOCTYPE Configure PUBLIC "-//Jetty//Configure//EN" " > http://www.eclipse.org/jetty/configure_9_3.dtd"> > > The public identifier you are using is incorrect for 'configure_9_3.dtd' > > > Joakim Erdfelt / joa...@webtide.com > > On Sun, Aug 20, 2017 at 2:27 AM, John Carrieri <jcarri...@greennet.com> > wrote: > >> Jetty 9.4.6 >> Java build 1.8.0_65-b17 >> Debian: Jessie >> It’s being started by our Application server Terascript >> >> Configuration file is named localhost.xml and the previous mentioned line >> Is where the errors come from if there is no Internet connection: >> >> <!DOCTYPE Configure PUBLIC "-//Mort Bay Consulting//DTD Configure//EN" " >>>> http://www.eclipse.org/jetty/configure_9_3.dtd”> >>>> >>> >> Thanks >> John >> >> >> >> On Aug 19, 2017, at 7:52 PM, Jan Bartel <j...@webtide.com> wrote: >> >> What version of jetty?
