Michele,

you can make life easier for yourself by using the .mod system and then
just running

java $(java -jar start.jar --dry-run)

that runs java once to work out the command line and then runs it again
without a spawn to actually run.  Better yet, put the output of the
--dry-run into a file and reuse (which is what the official docker images
of jetty do).
