I was thinking about it-what I said about volunteering being a thankless job. I guess I wasn't exactly right about that. I have always been homeroom mom for at least one of my boys classes along with my resale shop duties & I usually have to foot the bill for some of the crafts & goodies that are needed for the parties. The other parents just assume that everything will be taken care of since they sent in their "$2.00" when asked, but there are always the few that never send it in all year even after follow-up notices. I guess they think that "little fairies" stuffed goodies in the 200+ Easter eggs for the hunt & packaged the exact supplies in 25 baggies to make a craft. A lot of the other parents have up to even 10 children at our school so these things are low priority on their minds plus all of their other expenses at the school. I receive all of the thanks I need when my DS proudly shows his grandmother the craft he made all by himself or smiles with the rest of his class as I snap pictures at the parties. Maybe this other woman feels unappreciated for her volunteering and needs payback in some way. In any case I see everyone here was in agreement and you have made the right decision. Your conscience is clear. Good luck with the drawings.
