Julie, I am in Delaware-not far from where all three states meet. How far
are you from there? Are you near Westchester or Avondale or are you farther
west than that? Today it snowed several inches then turned to kind of a
sleet for a while & then back to heavy snow. I'd say there are at least 5 or
6 inches out there. I thought there'd be more too. I let my kids go out in
it today even though older DS just got over missing 2 weeks of school with
bronchitis. I hope it wasn't a mistake. He was bundled up good & stayed
pretty dry & got a hot bath right away when he came in. He literally didn't
leave the house for 2 solid weeks so probably the fresh crisp outside air was
more germ free than this closed up house. The kids don't go back to school
until Wed. since there is some march in Washington that they have off
for-don't know why. Maybe some of the teachers are going to it or something.
Then they only have a 1/2 day on Friday so this will be a really short week.
Too bad it is going up into the 50's in just a couple of day & will melt all
of the snow. It is so pretty on every little branch in my woods. DH bought
a new snowblower last year so he got to try it out tonight. It has
headlights on it so he could use it in the dark. It used to take him several
hours to shovel our long driveway. I wouldn't mind helping him but shoveling
& sweeping are too things that my back really pays for later. If it is nice
tomorrow we are going to go out & make a family of snow "piggies" just to be
different from the neighbors.

Since I posted my day's to do list the other day I haven't been back. It has
taken me ever since to clean the bathroom & do a few loads of wash since the
majority of my time has been helping DS to his makeup work for school. If
you have to make a working volcano my advice is not to use plaster gauze. It
doesn't go very far & 3 hours later we still were working at it. I had to go
to the hardware store nearby & buy plaster of Paris & it took over 4 lbs to
make it look anywhere like Mt. Vesuvius. We haven't tried it out yet but we
installed 2 tubes for both side & top eruptions & a hand pump (like a blood
pressure bulb) to keep the lava flowing when the vinegar & baking soda
stopped fizzing. I didn't have any idea what we were doing so I will let you
know how the trial eruption goes. Both DS's & myself were armed with a
variety of colors of spray paint all spraying at once trying to give it a
"camouflage look." If he wasn't so pressured to get the project done we
would have been having a lot more fun. I hope he can complete everything
before he goes back to school on Wed. I would appreciate all of your prayers
as he goes back to school. For all of you 'new guys' my older DS (11 yrs.)
started experiencing panic attacks this past summer whenever he was away from
me & after starting Paxil in October he has managed to go to school at least
without any trouble. Other than that he hasn't as much as gone to even a
birthday party without me accompanying him. Totally refuses. Since we have
been "stuck" in this house togetner 24/7 for the last 2 weeks the dependancy
has started again. I had to go to the school on Friday to work at the resale
shop & he took a fit & cried even though my DH had the day off & was there
with him. I am afraid that the tantrums & scenes that he made at the
beginning of the year are going to start up again when he goes back on
Wednesday. He finally was starting to get a little of his dignity back from
his classmates & I don't want him to lose their respect again. He cries
right in front them & this just isn't accepted behavior among 6th graders.
He is a big boy & it does look ridiculous for someone his size to be hanging
on his mother crying in the hallway. I know this is off topic but all of
this stress over him has taken a toll on my state of mind & it has set me
back in the decluttering area. I just sit at the kitchen table & stare &
can't seem to get motivated to do anything. I forgot to call in my mortgage
when I was supposed to & when I did it was after hours so I had to mail it in
& will get a penalty fee. We are so broke that we can't afford for me to be
so irresponsible. Sorry Julie for going off on so many subjects when I just
wanted to ask where exactly where you lived. I was afraid if I didn't put it
all down in this post then I never would write it.

Thanks for your patience with me,
Debbie in Delaware (who is praying that the snow sticks around to be pretty
but the roads are clear enough for us to go to church & to the library to
return overdue books & to the grocery to buy some food since I still haven't
bought any since before Christmas & the cupboard is really getting bare).
