I never realized until this year, while helping DS with his 6th grade English
work, how terrible I am with grammar. I am feeling utterly stupid to realize
(after 47 years) that layed is not even a word. It is either lay, lie, laid,
or lain for all of you that are as grammarly impaired as myself (did I say
that right? I mean correctly? LOL) !!! I was arguing with DH over the
existing of the word in question when younger DS (8 years old) pipes up with
"Geesh Mom, don't you know it's lay the object on the table and lie down and
take a nap unless you already took the nap and then it's I lay on the bed
until dinner!" I thought that I layed down until dinner but now that isn't
even a word so I thought that maybe I laid down until dinner but I now am
finding out that I would have had to have laid my body (an object) down until
dinner but then of course I came to realize that if my body was lying (is
that right?) down then there would be NO DINNER!!! My mind can't take it any
more!!!! I think I will go recline on the couch to lay my mind to rest. I
am on a roll...I can't stop. I know this is OT but I have no control.
Somebody hit me quick!!!! My brain is getting cluttered!!!

Ok, I am under control now. I promise to not do this again. Oh, since
several of you emailed me separately about my DS I wanted to let you know
that he went to school just fine today & other than forgetting to bring half
of his books home there weren't any major incidents. Now he just has to make
up 7 tests and finish his volcano project & report and write a report, make a
poster, cook a recipe, & design a tourist pamphlet on the state of Texas.
Oh, he has to read a book & write a book report & memorize all 50 states,
their capitols & their locations also. I am never going to make it through
6th grade!!!!! Anyway I think he will be ok but I am going to make another
therapist appt. for him anyway. On the other hand, I am another matter!!!
LOL

P.S. any Texans out there with an easy & CHEAP authentic Texas recipe to
make & serve (at least a small portion) to about 25 - 30 people? The
Australians & Canadians have come through for me (& DS) so why not you
Texans? LOL
