that would be easy but they get graded on the recipe they choose also & I
think she would say it was too easy unless it was homemade salsa which I have
made in the summer when we had fresh tomatoes & peppers from the garden but
in the middle of winter with the yukky hard "pink" tomatoes in the grocery
that doesn't seem so appealing. We are planning to try the bean/cheeses
burrito things this weekend to see how the kids like them & we might try to
make the pecan tarts even though that doesn't seem like a typical Texas dish.
I haven't gotten to check out those sites that Julie gave me yet but I will
this weekend. They postponed the date of the food & dressing in the native
dress of their state from Feb. 1st to the 8th so we have a little more time.
I guess he'll go as a cowboy unless any of you Texans have a better idea that
I don't know about already. The teacher said that they could just make a big
shape of the state on poster boards & wear it like they were advertising if
they couldn't come up with anything else. I guess they could pick something
like if it was Delaware they could go as the Blue Hen since that is the state
bird. I told him he could wear that giant Sponge Bob costume I made his
brother & attach maps on the front & back but his brother quickly nixed the
thought of anyone abusing his precious Sponge Bob. LOL
