Yeah Mindy but how did you paint or how are you going to paint the floor. I ask because I have hardwood floors in my house. The one that I'm needing to paint is the dining room floor. Well it's the living room or the first room you come into when you come in the front door. It's a heavy traffic area. What kind of paint are you using on your floor? What kind of paint do you think I should use on my floor? I'm sure I will have to sand the floor before I get started and then it will be a mess because we'll have to stay off the floor until it's dry. I'm sure everyone in the family will find an excuse to have to track through this room. That's one of the reason's I've put painting this room off until another day.

Hi Diane!!!!
Well as far as how the floor painting went - it didn't! I guess the flu took more out of me than I thought because I started to move stuff around and suddenly was out of steam. I decided to rest a little and laid down and was out for 6 hours. So I am doing it in steps. The floors are wood but in bad enough shape that they are not worth refinishing - and they look chaming in kind of a shabby chic/ cottage style when painted.
I vacuumed the floor - and the area rugs this morning (I have to work today at 3 p.m.)and plan to mop it tomorrow after work. I work 10 hours plus 1&1/2 hours commute on Thursday so probably won't get a lot done that day - and I clean for a family Friday morning. Friday p.m. I will move stuff to one side of the room, and paint Sunday or maybe Saturday after I get off work.
The kitties have to go in the basement so I don't have little paw prints all over - well - except for Boo who gets freaked out at the basement and was almost traumatized the one time I put him down there - he'll go in the downstairs bathroom. So I also have to put food and water and litter boxes both places before I start.
Yes - I will really be relieved and feeling good when I finally get this done!!! Because then I can get the bookcases put up and all my books moved upstairs and get the computer room rearranged and and and.............Nothing is ever simple, is it?  LOL
Hang in there - you will paint when it is time to paint - the money and the time will appear.
LWL,
Mindy

P.S. I find I tend to figure out my scheduling to get specific tasks accomplished here at the computer as I reply to jfc emails. One reason I think I flounder when I am not being active on this list is that I don't have the planning out plus accountability that our normal back and forth conversations provide! Does that make sense to you? LOL

Hi Mindy -

How did it go on the floor painting? Are you painting wood floors? Did you get it done? It is always good to finish up something you've started - such a feeling of accomplishment.

I need to get motivated to do some interior wall painting, but since I don't have the paint I've been using the money excuse. I know I'll find the money to buy the paint when I'm ready to do the job. Soon, maybe...

Diane
