frankly - everyone needs to learn that they are not the total center of the universe! Into every life some rain must fall and it often starts when they are no longer the only.
AMEN to that Mindy. I've often said that the younger brother was one of the best things that ever happened to the older. Both boys have shared the center of the universe position for me. I shudder to think what the older one would have been like had he kept that position alone. I just had too much mothering attention available for one child, and he would have been overwhelmed.
Still, sometimes I struggle with the balance of giving everyone what they need. It isn't easy and there are times you feel guilty. But I always do my best for both of them and they know it...
