Hello all Its time to clear out the filing, get rid of the old stuff and the stuff we no longer need to keep.
I have already done the first bit already, taken the envelopes labelled 'destroy 2002' and burnt them in the wood burner. All that's left now is to pull the stuff we no longer need like receipts for things where the guarantee/warrantee has run out, paperwork relating to the old washing machine and tumble dryer can go too as we got rid of those recently. In a lot of the files where we don't have to keep things for x number of years I am re considering what I want to keep. I prefer this to filing, that isn't to say I relish in the task either LOL. It also gives me a chance to combine files. When we got the new tumble dryer I made up a file for 'Household appliances' instead of one called 'Tumble Dryer' as I usually do. It will save on the number of files we need. There are many more files that I can do this with too. It also gives me the opportunity to review how and why I am filing stuff. What I considered at the time to be important enough to file may not be so important to me now. So here I am in the office/computer/craft room head buried in the filing cabinets. Anyone out there want to join me? Louise
