Hello Sleepless in San Antonio (formerly known as Leslie)

I know how it feels to spend half the night awake when you know that sleep
will benefit tomorrows activities and that you need to sleep. I hope the
meeting went well and that now it is behind you you will sleep tonight.

I am pleased and envious that you got something done, if I can't sleep I
tend to get on the PC and play, I wouldn't dream of cleaning or sorting in
the middle of the night!

When it comes to donating stuff I think the emphasis should be on getting it
out of your house and not on who is going to benefit the most because when
it comes down to it you are the one that is going to benefit more; you won't
have to store it, maintain and it can't drag you down when its gone. You
don't feel any guilt because you trashed 'perfectly' good stuff and somebody
somewhere is going to 'deal' with it instead of you.

When I first started making piles for donation I hung onto them until I had
the time to research where I was going to donate my stuff. The pile sat
there for ages and got bigger and bigger and dragged me down even more. One
day in a fit of frustration I loaded the lot into the car and took it to the
nearest donation point and got rid of the lot. It happened to be a local
jumble sale, don't ask me where the money they raised was going because I
never stopped to read the leaflet that far, all I know is that it was no
longer in my way LOL.

I've donated stuff to all sorts of places and nearly always it was the
easiest and most convenient for me.

Now I wait until a charity is collecting in the area and give them what I
have waiting to be donated on my landing. At this time of year we get them
coming around once a month sometimes more often.

Hope this helps

Louise
