Hello Littermates,
Well. I didn't do too much yesterday as dh was home. I did go to vacuum out the lingerie chest that my mom and dad had brought up for me to use for the new baby. Well, my grandmother had refinished it and patience is not her strong suit (actually a toddler has more than she ever had) so the refinish job....well......sucked. The light was shining in the window and I could see individual brush strokes going against the grain of the wood. It had been bugging me (the refinish job) but now I just couldn't stand it anymore. I couldn't strip it with chemicals but there was nothing saying an orbital sander was off limits. I took one drawer downstairs and outside and sanded it. Boy, it looked nice. Of course, dh was home and being a man had to take over the operation. He brought the whole thing down and outside on the deck and got the belt sander. Needless to say, most of the finish is off of the chest now. Th! e chest needs some fine tuning sanding (by hand with really fine sandpaper) and a coat of the gel stain that we usually use (yes, dh will do it with me supervising of course). But at least it looks good now and not like a toddler varnished it. :)
Last night I came down with a migrane about 9:30pm. I thought I was gonna die it was that bad. I took the stuff I am allowed, put dd to bed, threw up, watched the news with my eyes closed because the video made me sick, and then went to sleep with dh tossing and turning and making my head throb. I woke up at 3am with a pounder. Took more medication and got my slumber mask on. I know it is dark at 3 am but it worked (I can't explain it, but the headach went away by 7am). I was figuring I'd go into labor (can't you just see the luck? Pushing a baby out with a migrane?) I didn't. Dh actually asked me this morning before work if I was ok. Usually he just leaves me alone.
I didn't move to much until this evening. I did 2 loads of laundry, dh's work clothes. I didn't have enough to do a full load of whites or darks so they can wait until Thursday. <g> I wanted dh's work clothes done so if I did go to the hospital he would have something to wear to work. Dd and I had a battle over lunch, then we went for a walk around the block. I put on Beauty and the Beast for her and took a nap. I had been having Braxton-Hicks/ False Labor all day and I honestly think I am doing the pre-labor gig. I have all of the symptoms listed in that book that I am convinced is designed to inform/scare the heck out of you. <g> I am in no real hurry (other than the insurance thing by the end of the month) to have this baby. But I would like to get it over with at the same time. I don't want to be induced again (especially not 4 times like last time).
The house looked like a bomb had gone off. The vacuum was up in dd's room so I started there. Did her room, the hall, the master bedroom, the bath, the steps, the living room, and the dining/kitchen. It wasn't too bad as it had been done recently. I just wanted the house to be presentable IF I do happen to go soon (no mud caked on the floor, chip crumbs, ect). I cooked dinner (dh requested spaghetti) and praised dh for getting me a step stool that had wide enough steps to sit my fat butt on (you can't sit on my mom's, to skinny)for Valentines'. It was what I asked for. Did the dishes, got his lunch ready, cleaned the stove quickly, put the laundry away, ect. All I have to do is make the coffee for tomorrow and I am in bed.
Tomorrow I hope to change the beds before I leave for my doctor appointment. It is my first "naked appointment". You know, the poking and prodding begins at 37 weeks (I am at 38 weeks-I couldn't get an appointment last week plus I had the ultrasound). I really don't mind the naked appointments too much. I figure by the time I deliver I won't care who is in the room. Please have good thoughts that I will go soon and make it to the hospital in time for the pain medication (or Louise, you will hear me screaming in England!). Thanks
Anyway, if the baby allows, I will be doing something on Thursday. Anyone want to work?
Julie
