Well working buddies Sherry Vannetta, and the other's that I didn't know about,

Nope, didn't get much done in the gross motor skills department.  We had dinner (I tried out vegetarian 'meat balls' on my Italian sweetie - no go.  Kids liked them, though)  This is my first night home since Saturday, so I just managed to clean up the dinner dishes and tidy up the kitchen and family room and just couldn't deal with the idea of any other housekeeping or decluttering.  Instead we planned the next 6 months.  I have visitation with the kids' dad to work around, workshops and trainings that take place over the next few months, and a commitment to do all of the '50 Hikes in Massachusets' (It's a book) hikes this year.  After about 3 hours of consolidating calendars and the three planners I have around here, I have weekends (mine are Friday-Saturday because I work on Sundays) arranged through our camping trip to the American Southwest in August.

Sweetie has gone home and I'm going to bed.  But before I go, I wanted to share the lightbulb moment I had tonight.  Sometimes, decluttering isn't about restoring physical space, sometimes it's about creating order in life in other ways.  For me, this was committing to plans for the rest of the church/school year and summer which begins the process of negotiating with the kids' dad, planning my work schedule and projects and generally being proactive about my spring and summer plans.  This would not have been possible two years ago. . .I would have just waited, waited, and raced around in a frenzy of activity, full of resentments as the months passed by, feeling once again, that there had to be a better way.  Thanks to all you JFCers I can say.. . There IS a better way, and I think I've found it.
