Hi Karen,

Thanks for the cheery welcome! I think my best bet is to borrow a digital camera, and
take
pics of various areas around my place, then send a jpeg off at a time, for the clan to
see
my Befores and Afters. That way, it's a solid committment I can't run away from - or
lie
about! As I mentioned in an earlier mail to Diane, however, I'm afraid that if you
folks
see my pictures, you'll recoil in utter horror! One always worries that people
associate
untidiness - even dysfunctional untidiness - with being dirty or tramp-like. Well, I'm
fastidious about my personal hygiene and you'd never think, to look at me, that I live
in
such a mess!

I guess I'm like a drug addict in a way - take away the addiction, and you have a
perfectly normal person. Trouble is, it becomes increasingly difficult keeping other
facets of one's life functional when one has this irritating "skeleton" shaking around
in
one's shadows. Other clutterers will no doubt attest to the fact that the clutter
around
them tends to affect their functioning - for example, it can lead to depression and
disorganised thinking (or is it the result of...?).

Ancient Chinese proverb:
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step."
(I'm sure that quote's been used by this group more than once...)

Take it easy,
Tat
