Linda -

Don't be too impressed - I try really hard to get something extra done every
day, figuring that will help me toward my goals. Some days its more than
others. Yesterday I wasn't feeling well, so after unloading Wal-mart bags
from the car I took a 20 minute break and rested on my bed before taking
Andrew to soccer. I had a cup of tea on the way and took a quick walk around
the track, which got me going again.

Last night I only managed to do a few extra things, though I did cook supper,
clean up and do some laundry. Chase (older ds - 15) helped Andrew with his
homework while I cooked, then helped me move the huge ficus tree from the
garage to the front porch - so now I can get into the garage without "tree
dodging" - YAY! He moved a couple of large plants off the back porch for me
so I could get the porch cleaned up and arranged for spring. I went through
the garage and threw away a few things that had landed there on the way to
the trash can. Chase also bathed the dog, so I got alot of work out of him
yesterday - I figure that counts on my list since I was the one motivating &
directing him - LOL.

I admire your ability to stick with a job til its finished (your basement).
Right now I have three projects going on - the back porch, the garage & the
attic. I will continue working on them til they're finished, but I like to
move from one thing to another sometimes. That way, when I get frustrated
with one project I can move to something else for a change of pace.

The porch is almost finished - just a little re-arranging of plants &
straightening up to do. I swept up most of the dead leaves & mess this
morning before work. I'll use the blower to get what's left. The garage is a
problem mainly because of using it for temporary holding during the attic
clean out and having moved things to get the ficus in there for the winter. I
still need to move a few things out of there and do some re-organizing.

Then there's the dreaded attic... I asked my neighbor this morning to help
Chase move the trundle bed out of the attic and he said he could do that this
afternoon. That will free up a pathway to continue moving things around the
attic. The attic is definitely a baby-step project for me. I am getting it
done little by little - some days making more progress than others. Sometimes
I get up there and do a couple of things before I get overwhelmed - other
times I work for a couple of hours and make real progress - depends on the
mood & energy level I guess.

I hope to finish the porch after work. I'm planning to get Andrew working
with me today on the garage & maybe a little on the attic. He can also vacuum
the mess we've made in the living room moving things around. Chase has a
guitar lesson & soccer this evening, so he won't be available. Andrew is only
10, so he can't physicallly do the things Chase does, but he does help when
he can.

You've done a great job on getting rid of stuff from your basement - 2 large
boxes of clothes and 3 trash bags moved out is a lot of stuff! I'm glad
you're working with me on the "big cleanout". I'm determined that this is to
be the last big push to get rid of excess stuff that I don't need or want.
Not that my house will be finished after this, but it will be the majority of
the "junk". I've been working on this for several years now and I've started
to see real progress. The attic is my last area of major junk - all the other
areas - cabinets, closets, etc. have been done at least once, most several
times. It has taken me a long time to develop the ability to just get rid of
things I don't need.

So here's to your basement - GO LINDA - I know you can do it!

Diane
~and yes, I'll work with you Thursday evening too~
