Kim,
We have been in this house for 7 years now (or soon) so I can't blame our lack of routine on moving. However my last pregnancy was unplanned and I slept most of the time. So my two oldest (8 & almost 13) have seen some-humm, how to say it, poor house management? Not that I did it on purpose. Slowly but surely I am improving and have taken the brunt of not only cleaning the house daily, but also working on years of clutter and the two dump rooms.
I need to leave a good legacy to my kids, but I have to do it first. I know that every time I take a nap, I trade cleaning time (my kids that is) for watching TV time. Sending kids to boot camp is not a bad idea!
However, I have to share that my toddler (21 months) has developed a taste for vacuuming. When I turn is on, she runs in a screams until I let her vacuum. She pushes and pulls for a good 10 minutes, and since she goes so slow, it really picks up the carpet nap. I stay near so she doesn't go over the cord or get too near the inevitable pile. Wonder how long this will last?!?
I have been working like a champ! (for me anyway!) Good thing too, because my neighbor needed to use the phone. She wouldn't have been able to walk in the door a few hours earlier!
Take care,
Leslie in San Antonio
