Hi Sherry,

I'm getting the emails, just not doing anything about them.  It has been quiet on the list (me too), but since I'm here I'll catch you up.

I've been ill for much of the last few weeks and have needed more down time than usual.  Anyhow, because the paying work has slowed down (after Easter it got much calmer) I've been hanging close to home and my DS and I are working bit by bit on house projects.  I do very little outside because the dust and molds just cripple me, but early in the spring we get to the garage and minimal yard stuff. That was this week and some stuff inside when it got cold again.   I find that when we listen to books on tape during these adventures, it makes the project (particularly those repetitive ones) go faster. This morning we're scrubbing walls that had wall paper stripped from them, in order to prepare that room for painting.

My desk is piled high again, but taxes are done and the house stays remarkably intact.  I will repeat to those of you in the throes of should I keep it or not that once you let it go, it makes life so much easier.  I don't miss any of the stuff. . .haven't been to a mall or thrift shop in about six months, and all the stuff I kept 'just in case' that I finally donated or dumped. . .?  haven't needed any of it yet!  It's such a relief to not have to shift piles around just to dust or sweep.  (And I don't think house size has any thing to do with it. . .my sweetie lives in a Boston flat which could fit in my family room, and has a welcoming uncluttered home as well)

Sherry, take care of yourself . . .

So today, I have stripped sheets from beds, they're in the washer
Cleaned kitchen
clear coated end tables
finished Sunday worship stuff
did a house sweep to return objects to their homes
cleaned MBR bath

And I need to finish washing walls with DS
fill in with spackle (sand this evening)
dust mop floors
attack piles on desk
Dry sheets and remake beds
go to ultimate frisbee game
and work on my April Goal

My April Goal is to develop the 15 minutes a day habit of spending time on my financial stuff (college finances loom large around here), so hold me accountable for being more intentional about my budget and where money goes.  We live within our means, but I'm careless about keeping track of where money goes and I have a feeling I could put far more into the college fund by just paying attention.

Anyone want to work with me?

rebecca
