Linda & Rebecca, Thanks for the encouragement on the garage sale. I'm happy to say that I'm almost finished dealing with the left overs! I sold a total of $240.00, and spent $10 for my share of the ad and signs.
My sisters each got rid of alot of stuff too. One sold about $250, donated an entire truckload to Goodwill, then took the rest to a flea market and sold the whole load for $100.! She is extremely happy, because she has a hard time getting her husband to let go of things so they had tons of stuff. The other sister only came on Saturday, but she sold a daybed and a few other things and made about $100. So it was a great success overall. I had to leave several things at my mom's that people were coming back to look at or buy, and those have been taken care of. Yesterday I picked up the couple of items that were left there. I still have 4 boxes in the garage to deal with, things that I've not decided on. Most everything else sold - or was donated. I do have a few items that I want to advertise to see if I can sell them. I'm still wiped out from the work beforehand, and the aftermath. The sale itself was not so bad since we all got a chance to visit. However, I put off school work with the boys til the last minute, due to being tied up with the sale. They both had major projects due Monday, and I was up til 5 am typing - and trying to get the printer working and running to the bathroom. So I got just one hour sleep from 5 - 6 am Monday morning. I am way too old for this. My house has yet to recover completely. I had to let regular cleaning & maintenance slide while I worked on the sale and school projects. Normally I would have it back in order by now, but I've been too exhausted to really work on it. We're also in the last couple of weeks of soccer - preparing for state competition, so practice has been intense and there's no possiblitiy of skipping one. My main goal for this week has been to keep up with absolute necessities and get some rest, not necessarily in that order... Maybe next week I'll be up to some challenges - if not, soccer will be over in a couple of weeks and then I'll have some free time to concentrate on the house and yard.
