Renegade Lt. General Athor Deng Must be brought to justice and pay the price for the killing of our innocent civilians in Jonglei State
BY: Miakuach Bhol Nyok, CALGARY, CANADA FEB. 20/2011, SSN; I would say enough is enough to forgive George Athor for his unforgettable evil deeds he has done to our citizens of Jonglei State. Athor, who is fighting for his own greedy and selfish interest to gain more money than his salary which he thinks will never satisfy him if he doesn’t have access to steal public money, must be brought to justice and pay the price for his killing of our innocent civilians in Jonglei State. Since our CPA was signed in 2005, Athor didn’t stop killing of our innocent civilians in Jonglei State. First, he started in Lou Nuer when he was disarming the civilians, his stupid strategy or tactic of disarming Nuer Lou community first before disarming Murle community which he should have done simultaneously if he was a man of justice, has cost the lives of our beloved citizens. I should say that killing was his responsibility. Second, the dispute upon the name of the county whether it should be called Khorfulus or Atar has also cost the lives of our beloved citizens in Atar. The poor people of Atar community who have suggested that let's leave Khorfulus or Atar names and come up with a different name which must combine the interest of both Khorfulus and Atar communities, were brutally killed by Athor who always believed that everything should be solved by fighting. He killed the innocent civilians in Atar because he was trying to force them to accept the name of the county to be called Khorfulus despite of Atar Community’s suggestion of a different name. Third, his recent massacre of our beloved citizens in Fangak County according to my analysis, as he was trying to bring riot into Southern Sudan in general so that his evil deeds can be hidden under the table without being seen by all Southerners. He was trying his strategy to bring war between Dinka and Nuer in order to achieve his revolution to gain power in South Sudan which will never happen because, for Athor to be a leader in South Sudan, it could be a nightmare to Southerners due to his weak political ideology. His political ideology is no different from Islamic Ideology which says if you don’t become a Muslim you will be killed. The same thing to Athor, he doesn’t know how to persuade people to support his idea but forces people to accept his idea or be killed if they don’t. Fourth, I would like to advise Athor’s supporters to back off from Athor. A man is alright corrupted and now you are supporting his leadership in the South or in Jonglei State? You have heard that his soldiers are receiving 1000 SDG and that is why some bankrupt brothers in the South are adhering to his disgraced forces. Where do you think Athor gets such money? Is it not the money he has hidden in his remote Village Khorfulus when he was responsible for Great Upper Nile SPLA Force Division and Pigi County when it was under the name of Khorfulus? Now you can ask yourselves, are you eliminating the corruption in Southern Sudan or are you encouraging the corruption? Please define yourselves and try to correct what you have done or thought wrongly. If you know you are supporting wrong idea, and you are doing it intentionally then you are no different from our Northern brothers who are wishing us bad luck. I think this time, it is the time we all Southerners should join hands and fight against corruption altogether so that our citizens in the South should live in freedom and harmony because it is what we were fighting for in the last 21 years of struggling against the Northern Sudan Regime. In my conclusion, I would like to ask Government Of Southern Sudan (GOSS) to be strong and take full responsibility to end Athor’s crisis in Southern Sudan; I don’t mind which mechanisms the SPLA forces can use against him whether he is killed or captured, to be brought to justice and pay the price for his brutal killing of our innocent civilians plus the SPLA soldiers who didn’t die during the struggle between North and South Sudan but killed after the CPA as a result of his aimless fighting against the SPLA forces. I myself, I believe that the duty of SPLA forces in South Sudan is to protect the lives of civilians and citizens of the country. If the civilians and citizens of your beloved New Country are being killed in your presence without taking a serious action against civilian killers, do you think they will vote for you in the next coming election?
