WAU, 7th March, 2011 [Gurtong] -- Western Bahr el Ghazal citizens condemned tribalism and segregation in their State during a thanks giving rally for the peaceful and successful referendum that saw the secession of Southern Sudan.
Speaking during the rally, Western Bahr el Ghazal State Governor Hon. Rizik Zacharia Hussan called upon the entire State community to be productive for the stability the new nation to-be. Hussan further asked the people to remain united as the state resolves challenges deterring them in reaching their destination. He reminded the gathering that the celebration of our Country’s independence shall be carried out simultaneously across the ten states of Southern Sudan on 9th/July 2011. Christians and Muslim faithfuls that make the two main leading religions in South Sudan after the breaking away from the north urged the entire region not to be slaves of religious doctrines; the people of South Sudan have the freedom to worship and to choose any religion.
