The yesterday's peaceful procession involved police controllers and the traffic police with other Western Bahr el Ghazal State citizens. The procession was held following last week’s Misiria attacks on Abyei Dinka Ngok chiefdom’s land where the Misiria nomads claim to have full citizen rights in the South’s territory. Western Bahr el Ghazal State Governor, Hon. Rizik Zackaria Hussan received the Abyei community at the ministerial buildings compound while congratulating them in holding a peaceful procession. Hussan condemned the Misiria attacks saying that South Sudan has seceded and asked the Northerners to respect the agreement especially after the long civil war that silenced southerners while many lost their lives. “The Abyei problem is not only for the people of the area but it is a general problem that needs a joint consultation to bring sustainable peace in Abyei,” said Hussan. The Governor called on all companies operating in Western Bahr el Ghazal State to pay a contribution of 1,000 Sudanese Pounds per company to help the Abyei Victorians evacuated by the recent attacks fighting by Radicals Misiria nomads. Hussan confirmed that his state has formed a committee to be headed by his deputy Governor Col. Efisio Kon Uguak to visit Abyei by Monday and access the situation.
