TORIT, 10 March 2011 (Gurtong) – The Eastern Equatoria State Police
Commissioner, Major General Juma Hassan Ali died suddenly on Sunday
while en route to Khartoum due to high blood pressure , officials have
revealed.

The Eastern Equatoria State deputy Governor Nartisio Loluke Manir
announced during the World Women’s Day Celebrations early this week
that in that fateful day, the late State Police Commissioner was on a
short trip to Khartoum to meet his family after his father’s death but
died of blood pressure that he suffered over night the day before.

According to officials in the Government of Eastern Equatoria State-
EES, the late took up his assignment late last year replacing his
predecessor Major General Joseph Makelele, the former Police
Commissioner who was transferred to Juba.

The late Hassen had first travelled to his homeland in Central
Equatoria and later proceeded to Khartoum to join his family members
for his father’s burial when he succumbed to death.

Many officials described the late Commissioner as a hard working and
resourceful gentleman saying not only Eastern Equatoria but South
Sudan at large has lost a hero.

Loluke assured the public that three different committees were formed
to organize and hold a State funeral.

While giving her condolences to the deceased family on behalf of the
State Government, the State Telecommunication & Information Minister
Nasike Allan Lochul encouraged the family to be strong and promised
that the state Government will continue to stand with them during
these difficult times.

She stressed that the late departed at a decisive time when the EES
community needed him mainly to keep security and maintain peace.
