Rumbek to Yirol road during rainy season (sosanews) According to Lakes state minister of physical infrastructure, Joseph Maker Madit, the main road linking Rumbek the capital of Lakes state to greater Yirol counties needs to be in good shape before the rainy season begins. He also pointed out that repairing this road is very important to the government of Lakes state as this road is the main route connecting Juba to Rumbek pand others states of Barh el Gazal regions. Maker affirmed that road from Maleng-Agok to Aluakluak is already being repaired. Maker said the issue of the Bar-naam Bridge, which collapsed last year, leading to a diversion is also a concern of the government because if it is not repaired in time the road might not be passable during the rainy season. Maker said that “yesterday they started work from Rumbek senior secondary school, and other team also started from Maleng-Agok – the issue is the bridge.” The road to Yirol becomes impassable during the rainy season causing slow movement of vehicles.
