The foodstuffs were 4 bags of maize, 4 gallon of oil and 860 Sudanese Pounds (287 USD) for each to cover their transport back to their respective destinations. The DDRC Finance and Administration officer in charge, Tong Uruan and Captain Achol Juach told Gurtong media that the number of women receiving the food aid was well screened from Mapel military barracks before they were sent to Wau. While in Wau, the UNPD and WFP were offering them food items before they were referred to the training centres where one could chose what kind of training they desired. “This is a positive commitment by the Government of South Sudan in recognizing women who suffered during war time; carrying ammunitions, cooking for armed soldiers in the front line,” said Bouk Madut, one of the women who benefited from the donations. She added that “We will be more delighted if DDRC, UNDP and IOM will continue helping us until we all acquired our business and become self reliant.” Posted in: Home -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "JFD info" group.
