200 heavy weapons found in Upper Nile Sunday, 17 April 2011 19:29 Sudan >>> The Upper Nile state's Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Peter Lam Both, told Radio Miraya that security officials found 200 heavy weapons in Malakal on Saturday. Both said that a general search was undertaken following the recent insecurity in Malakal town.
Meanwhile, he denied allegations by the Sudan People Liberation Movement-Democratic Change (SPLM-DC) that security personnel had stormed the party's office in Malakal. He clarified, saying it was a general search in which they also searched the offices of SPLM and National Congress Party, and homes of civilians in the area. Earlier in the week, SPLM-DC had claimed that security personnel broke into their office in Malakal, attributing the incident to continuous accusations that the party supports militia groups in southern Sudan. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "JFD info" group.
