An open commercial Land Cruiser is said to have been loaded in Juba
with 24 people in the morning of 27 April and left for Bor where it
capsized at Diar.
The injured passengers were taken to Bor civil hospital for medical
care. Some accused their driver of riskless driving, saying they had
warned the driver to drive carefully. In South Sudan where roads are
poor, the speed limit is 60 km per hour.
Among the wounded passengers, Ngor Kuany and Mary Achol have serious injuries.
According to eye witnesses, Ngor Kuany regained consciousness after
his death was announced by doctors in Bor civil hospital on 28 April.
Mary Achol, 29, who was unable to talk, is expected to have rib
fractures and internal injury of some organs according to the X-ray
test results on 28 April.
In a similar development, an accident involving a motorbike and car
occurred in Juba on the same day at the Western Union main branch,
where one person was reported dead.
