Don't Give the President Absolute Power: In the Greek Philosophy of
politics and government, when the debate was so hot about the power of
the philosopher-king and need for him to rule the people and contain
the arising crises, philosopher Plato came up and asked: Ok, we have
known now the king should rule the people but who will rule him and
who will contain his crisis?
It was very difficult to give an answer because all were afraid to
disappoint the king. But later, philosopher Aristotle took the courage
to say: the philosopher-king should be ruled by the constitution that
gives power back to the people in case he immerses himself into crisis
of corruption from too much love for absolute power.
I hope Mr. MP Timothy Chol, the Chairperson of the Executive and
Legislative Cluster in SSLA had read and learnt some lessons from
history of constitutions makings, and he would have asked the same
questions of Plato, and perhaps, got convinced by the answer of
Aristotle. Dr. James Okuk.
Against Al Jazeera comment on South No, no! It exactly reflects the
Aljazeera policy of one-sided media that always formulates south Sudan
as nothing but pagans and backward people who will contribute nothing
to the world, but instead, facilitates enmity to the Arabs, wars,
crimes and so forth. I can see that currently there are a lot of wars
in the Arab country, tribalism is prevailing in Yemen. No bad comments
from Aljazeera or the likes, what does it mean? Wars and tribalism are
everywhere, not only in the south Sudan and Africa. Wani Laku, Sudan
Wait to change the regime Let US first give a very small Room for the
Current Ruling Party for them to declare the Final Journey to our
independence that we all struggled for. Then that will the Real Time
for each of every one in the whole Newly BORN state must have a say to
their Leadership that, "Ajama," enough is enough for all of you to Go.
We all Suffered for this Gifted Natural Land of South Sudan with you
in the FIELD. Just give the Young ONES the Room to Rule the Country in
a very reflected Democratic WAY to Represent and Accommodate all the
People of "JUNUB" in Constructive, Effective and Efficient Development
to Reach Every Corner of the so-called Marginalized People at grass
root Level. Major Joseph Alexandro Mule, South Sudan
Voice of Comrade Pagan Amum is very important A lot of questions have
been ringing in my mind the same way brother Isaiah has articulated it
in his piece of writing. This is the time when all the necessary
weapons whether physical or verbal talk should be made available in
the eyes of these traitor of the Sudan. Abyei has been taken and we
have not heard anything from the prominent man in the SPLM who has
been seen as the lion in the jungle. Whatever has made this man silent
is serious and should be relieved of it as soon as possible because we
need these Arabs to be attack from both sides. We have learned that
Kiir is a peaceful man in his strategies but he should dispatch these
people to say what Southerners need to be heard in the Northern part
of the Sudan. Michael Mathiang Ngong, Cairo, Egypt
Liberation from own liberators I don't know why SPLM party is refusing
to hear the voice of wisdom in the person of the opposition parties?
The oppositions have stated their reasons that made them to reject the
constitution and calling for it's amendment, while the SPLM pushing
for their own party agenda, meanwhile cheating the southern public
that their interest is embodied in the interest of the SPLM. That is
not true, the SPLM wanted to crown for us another Robert Mugabe or Idi
Amin in south Sudan, through the help of their present constitution
which they thought that the southern oppositions will swallow it
easily.
But do we think the opposition parties alone can resist the passing of
this SPLM constitution? The answer is a big No, because the number of
SPLM MPs is over-ridering the number of opposition MPs, hence
democratically the majority votes overrides the minority votes
.Therefore it's the duty of every southerner to exert his/her strength
to stop this one party constitution with it's life time president to
be a reality in our modern history. It's time for us to liberate
ourselves from our own liberators who turn to be dictators. Pitya lo

Supports federalism REPLY TO GEORGE LOT. Dear Brother, you are hundred
percent right. One day I managed to go across one of the oil
industries in Khartoum and saw the only tribes working with that
company are only the two tribes which you mentioned, starting from the
vice president of that company, and company's security Head and
Logistics coordinator. If I ask the GOSS ministry of mining, are they
the only tribe deserving only that company. I'm supporting greater
Equatorians Governors' conference which was calling for federation,
and I ask all Equatorians to refuse Juba as the capital of south
Sudan. Let them find alternate free area to be the capital. DOWN, DOWN

Pagan escalates situation and crises Aggressiveness is a
characteristic of Mr. Amum, and hastiness is one of his habits. His
policies are usually based on escalating crisis, making condemnation
and false accusations against those who don't agree with him. Besides,
he's the one who creates instability in south Sudan, violent conflicts
like the alleged assassination attempt against Dr. Lam Akol. In other
words, he allegedly masterminded the assassination attempt against his
own tribal man. According to my judgment, Pagan is an opportunities,
egoistic, and loathsome person. I would add, not only he's
feeble-minded, but also he's an evil-minded like his associate, Edward
Lino, the alleged murderer of Emma Machar. Although Kiir's government
is composed largely of Dinka and the civil service and diplomatic
corps are almost totally Dinka tribe, he never comments negatively on
that. Instead he turns against Dr. Lam simply because the later has
declined to be a Dinka puppet. Although defeated politically in home
town by Akol, and many Shilluk public figures accused Amum of being a
traitor and condemned his actions as dividing the Collo community yet,
Pagan and the Abyei elites are the big winners. Pagan has been
associating himself with Abyei group and resorting to "gunboat
diplomacy" such as what happened between the SPLA and Gen. Tang
guinyia in Fangak.
The second problem creating by Pagan is the policy of divide and rule
in south Sudan. Instead of encouraging unity among south Sudanese
people, Pagan and some elites from Abyei create situations in which
would make south Sudan of a failed state. Indeed, the elites (Ngok
Dinka) do so by adopting a policy of divide and rule that will
encourage ethnic and tribal differences within the south. Hence,
rather than promoting national unity, Pagan and like are the ones
promoting ethnic fragmentation in our beloved country.
The first political division he's trying to impose in other words,
another pervasive primordial tie that characterize Mr. Amum's group is
the creation of cliques particularly in the Nuer tribe. Conclusion,
sending our troops to Abyei at the movement is irrational idea, Mr.
Abraham. Hence, I believe, Kiir-Machar's quiet diplomacy is the only
best option. Mr. Isaiah Abraham by the ways, has affiliated himself
with the cliques.

Leave issue to international observers Dear friend, it's a talking
point all over South Sudan that such issues as inciting public should
be avoided before we could go about barking at each other as a nation.
You must understand that you are turning these tribes against each
other and that's what you must protect as a Journalist or whoever you
call yourself. I suppose you can't report all these because you belong
to that particular tribe as names refer. I'm not from any of these
tribes but we should know our roles and ethics before rushing to
conclusion. If we know that UNMIS played vital role and international
observers having eyes on this, why couldn't you leave these to the
people concerned for you have no decision to make though you write to
those presidents. Better we make sense if we long to reshape our
poorly cultured nation. De'Yacouba Sabbath, Kenya
