SPLA: Rebel Yauyau returns to Juba after signing peace deal with GoSS Thursday, 16 June 2011 13:43 Sudan >>> The Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) announced on Thursday that renegade militia leader, David Yauyau, who took up arms against the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS) after losing the 2010 general elections, has arrived in Juba, after signing a peace agreement with GoSS.
The peace deal, signed on Wednesday, was brokered by the former GoSS Presidential Advisor for Peace and Reconciliation, General Ismail Kony, and some SPLA commanders, the SPLA Spokesman, Col. Philip Aguer, told Radio Miraya on Thursday. "It is however unclear whether Yauyau will be reintegrated in the military or be given a political position," Aguer added. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "JFD info" group.
