African Union High Level Implementation Panel on Sudan has said that the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) have both agreed to demilitarize the troubled Abyei area. The document, which was signed in Addis Ababa on Monday, will authorize the deployment of Ethiopian peacekeeping forces in the area under the auspices of the United Nations.
