Tuska, Thats not how it works.
If you set a trigger saying that send you an email when the duration is >5min, and you specify a host or an interface in the trigger. Then the interface goes down, the trigger gets executed, but the duration rule donest match, it will get executed every minute from the consolidate script to check if the duration matches. So, at 5 minutes of the interface being down, you should get an email. JFFNMS currently does not have a way to do what you are asking. But the pollers should assure that the value returned is correct.
