I recently configured a Gentoo box with syslog-ng recieving syslog messages from another linux system and and seeing them on the JFFNMS events screen. Also, Gentoo is my Distro of choice, the main developement of JFFNMS is done on a Gentoo/Sparc Sun box. But anyway, msyslog from the jffnms site works ok too.
