In the generic Unix installation document, after some edits is says to restart apache, and check to see if Apache has loaded php4.
cat /var/run/apache.pid yeilds apache.pid##
kill -HUP <apache.pid##> OK?
Also, how do you check to see if apache has loaded the php module?
