Hi Travis,
You should read the Manual Section on SLAs and also about the Trigger/Action System.
JFFNMS will evaluate the SLAs every 30 minutes and it will create an event if some SLA is not withing the specified values.
Then with the Trigger system you can match that event or alarm to be sent to an Action (like 'Send via eMail').
We already have SLAs for Packet Error Rate, in the Physical Interface type, but you may want to modify the threshold.
