Hi Jason,

No, thats only for Cisco Devices, or some other supporting the CISCO-PING-MIB, because this uses SNMP to initiate a ping from the Host to the specified IP. This is commonly used for ISPs to measure the LocaLoop RTT and PL from their router to the CPE.

If you want normal RTT/PL from the JFFNMS host to the device, you can use the Reachability interface that should be discovered if you have fping installed.

Hi
So, I found in the documentation that it says that the Peer Ip address field
is used for RTT/PacketLoss, so I've populated that field and it seems that
it is still not graphing these values and when I view the RTT/Loss graph, on
the bottom where it says Peer IP Address, it shows nothing, so maybe JFFNMS
is not taking the Peer IP which I've entered...so is it possible to get the
RTT/Loss from an interface which has no IP address but has the peer IP
configured? Thanks again.

Subject: [jffnms-users] RTT / Packet Loss question

Hi
So I've got JFFNMS graphing one of our Alcatel switches and it seems to be
working nicely now, but I was wondering about the RTT/Loss graphs. I
noticed that in the config for each interface there is a field for IP
address, but since this is a switch, the port does not have an IP address,
but the host on the end of the link does...if I manually put the IP address
of the host into this field, will JFFNMS graph RRT/PacketLoss?
