Hi David,
Check that your cronjobs (*nix) or scheduled tasks (Windows) are running.
Do you have files in the rrd/ folder?

When i do a manual discover on a host everything goes OK (it seems so) but when i try the Performance tab i get some errors. JFFNMS complaints about no rrd files created yet for each interface i want to monitorize.
