Hi Chris,

First, I am monitoring some switches and the machines are turned off at night.
What I would like to be able to do is tell the system to continue to monitor the
status and statistics, but do not go to red when the port goes down. As this is
not really an error for a workstation.

You could set "Check Status" to off in all this interfaces.

Ok, call me an id10t. I just went back and looked and it is pulling stats. I guess
I looked at a port that someone plugged into but didn't do anything.

Second, are you familiar with pNSClient for Windows? It has the ability to get
information from perfmon counters. There is now way of doing this with JFFNMS
currently that I know of. What would be involved with making JFFNMS communicate
with it?

I don't know what this is... but if you have SNMP installed on windows JFFNMS can get the HOSTMIB information.

I did some research on the perfmon counters and I only found a commercial program
that would convert them to snmp poll able items. There is also WMI but there doesn't
seem to be anything that runs on linux that can poll WMI data from Windows. In this
case, unless there is something that I am missing, the HOSTMIB is not going to give me
the data I need. And with WMI around, MS is not making anything really new available
via snmp. :(

Guess we need to work hard to get everyone off Windows and on to Linux huh? :)
