thxs for the immediate reply. iam using

/usr/local/sbin/syslogd -i linux -i unix -i udp to start syslog.
i though this is aproblem with mysql source..so i reinstall mysql
devel,mysql server RPM's. but nothing happened.
it wont write to thedatabases. i manually add the records it works...then no
premission problem. pls..help me..
i added /usr/libmysqlclient.so... in ld.so.conf..but it didnt work.
