Didn't you say it was syslog messages?  the snmptrapd can be caused when
you enable v1 traps and v2 informs.

There's something wrong with the parsing but I cannot see why it is
parsing things wrong.  Perhaps make your RE a little less restrictive
and see how that goes. For example remove the ^ and see how that goes.
