Hi Balu,

It seems your host agent does not support 64bits OIDs.

The serial interfaces use the HC oids if you are using SNMPv2 or V3.

Try with SNMPv1

Hi, Javier

I have configured my router with snmp v3 and this
router's interface is getting discovered through
manual discover.

The problem is I am getting plain graphs for
serial interfaces and I am getting graphs for other
interfaces like cpu utilization, memory and
fastethernet utilization.

In the graph for serial interface it showing nan bps
value for Inbound/outbound Max.

I did not known what is wrong in the config.

Balu.

Hi Balu, David, Falz:

Well, this is the kind of bug that I was hoping we
could catch in the -pre and -rc rounds. It seems we have to get better at that
:(

Its a one-liner. Patch included here. Its just a
matter of removing "Gauge32: " from the SNMP response.

A solution without having to patch is to use

SNMPv2,

but thats not recommended as its slower and it doesn't work on Windows.

Keep in mind that if you apply this patch, you

will

need to reverse it before upgrading to any future versions.

Hi Javier

I have added one cisco router and one HP DL380

server

in JFFNMS-0.8.0 . For the both the hosts it is

taking

128kbps for all its interfaces.

As you said bandwith command is set for all the

serial

interfaces in cisco routers as shown below.

interface Serial3/2
dampening 30 100 200 120
description "NLD-Hyd"
bandwidth 1984
ip address x.x.x.x x.x.x.x
no ip redirects
no ip unreachables
no ip proxy-arp
ip route-cache flow
load-interval 30
max-reserved-bandwidth 80

I am still retaining the 0.7.9 ver as it is. For
testing I have installed 0.8.0 on a seperate

system.

one more thing is for the same hosts jffnms0.7.9

is

detecting the bandwith of all the interface

correctly

but in 0.8.0 it is taking as 128kbps.

What might have wrong.

Regards,

Balu.

Hi Balu,

Is the host a Cisco router?

Check if the "bandwidth" command is set.

You can also do a snmpwalk ifSpeed to find out

what is

reporting.

JFFNMS will show 128k when no bandwidth is set.

Javier
