The idea of using a map is that maps are interfaces groups.

If you wanted to be alerted when none of the map interfaces are up you could use this.

Also the idea is for a host to depend on a group of interfaces (maybe a group of upstream provides) where if none are up, you don't poll that host.

Main interfaces are a small dependency system, its not good yet.
