You many be monitoring Port 23 or RSH port and that could seems to the router
that you are trying to login.

Finally moved my install of JFFNMS over to linux from windows. However,
started getting an odd message from my two catalyst 6500 switches:
2005 Aug 26 10:11:42 EDT -04:00 %MGMT-5-LOGIN_FAIL:User failed to log in
from [IP addres removed] - max attempt reached
JFFNMS is discovering the device fine, but one of the poller processes
appears to be either trying to log in to the switch, or is fooling the
switch into thinking that a log in attempt is occuring. My switches are
running telnet and ssh, but not http.
Any suggestions on which poller process may be triggering what looks
like a login?
Thanks,
