We are evaluating the use of JFFNMS, and so far we are extremely pleased with it.
We monitor CMTSes (Cable Modem Termination Systems) and we need to
monitor items such as Signal to Noise, Total Number of Modems by
Interface, Total Number of Registered Modems by Interface. We
know the OIDs for each of the items we would like to monitor.
The question is, when a Discovery is ran it adds the interfaces from
the CMTS without a problem, however doesn't know of these important
values that are a part of this interface. What method is the best
for adding these items to be monitored, graphed, and alarms generated
when certain numbers fall within certain ranges?
I have read the documentation on www.jffnms.org, however am just as
confused as before I started. If anyone has 1) the answer, 2) a
good tutorial or howto, or 3) an example of how you monitored something
'different' -- please let share.
