picotting? reducing?
The number of hosts and interfaces is really driven by the hardware
used.
We have just under 150 hosts and just under 1900 interfaces.

More a problem with the SNMP on the router and subinterfaces.  Depending
on how they are setup and IOS versions, they can be not visible.
