Are the hosts you are monitoring slow?

Use 'dstat' to verify your disk I/O to see if you have a bottle neck there.

Load almost always at load average: 5.14, 4.96, 4.81

So what am I doing wrong? Why is my load avg so high and why do I get lots of gaps in graphs (presumably due to the poller not having time to complete a poll every 5 mins) ?

I was considering moving to a new Duel 2.8Ghz Zeon box with 4Gb ram and a supafast UW320 RAID0 array. But should I need to? The figures I have seen here make me believe I
do not..

The load is pretty much constant at around 22-23%

Doh!

I'm running FC3 and was eyeballing the CPU %.

Over the last week, the 15 minute load average was 1.0 with a max of
5.2.

I'm rebuilding the box to use FC4 and we'll see if that makes a
difference.

We're also about to start putting a good number of these machines out
(on both this type of machine and one with a 2.4 ghz proc / 1.5 gb of
ram / SATA drives) and I'll get back with info on those.

Thanks,

What OS? I'm guessing some sort of windows with load in a %.
If you don't want to say, that's ok too.
